Im using my 400d with a 24-70

however whenever i am taking a picture the camera freezes and the powerlight stays on even if i switch it off. ive used it quite a few times before and its been fine until now , the only way to get it working again is taking the battery out and putting it back in but as soon as i take a pic it freezes again.

anyone have the answer for me? is it the cf card? ive used it plenty of times and no probs in the past

Sounds like it could be a CF issue - can you format the cf card (in the camera)?

hi,
mine does that sometimes, sometimes i get the ERR99 error, sometimes i dont, i take the battery out and change it to my spare one and it works fine, so i thought it was maybe my battery starting to run out.

im not getting the error sign , it completely freezes and the lcd stays black aswell

I'll have a stab at the micro-switch on the memory compartment cover.

I had something similar with my 400D when I had it and the problem was the shutter. Had to have it replaced by Lehmans after arguing with canon that the warranty had expired by 2 months but the original shutter count was tiny, less than 2500. Got told the warranty was out so pay up. Only cost £160 in the end fortunately but still a lot of money.
