Hi guys

I have no idea what the following is. I'm applying for a job with the NHS. It says on the application do I hold any memberships to any professional bodies. I clicked on the question mark because I have no idea what they are but it doesn't elaborate.

Any help/advice appreciated

Kinds regards

Sarah

It asks this..

Please indicate your UK professional registration status.

Hi, it will me for doctors, nurses, physios, pharmacists etc. You can just say no I would think.

Yup, exactly as menthel says!

My wife's a pharmacist and so has to be registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (I think thats the right name...)

Doctors/nurses will have to have similar registrations.

If the job's admin or similar I would imagine its just a case of putting "not applicable"

Yep, I have my GMC registration. Which reminds me the money grabbing barstools need paying!

Are you a member of a organisation relating to a trade or profession?

/nods agreement. Lawyers and suchlike also tend to need professional registration.

I'm a professional geek, so don't need to be registered with anyone :naughty:

Sarah,
I am fairly sure it applies to UK professional registration of the NHS as a nurse, paramedic, doctor etc, was commonly called a pin number, and was necessary to be insured in whatever post you held.
hth.

This only applies if you are a registered medical professional, so I guess it's not applicable. All healthcare professionals in the UK are registered with a 'professional body', for example the nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), and would probably have an 'active' or current registration if they are presently working.

Hope that helps :)
