Urgent Advice : Developing times for Rodinal Special

Hello,

I am about to develop a couple of rolls. (Lucky Films 100 ISO BW and Fomapan 100 ISO) with rodinal special.
I can't find any timings for this on digital truth.

Does anyone have experience of using this developer at 1+15 conc?

Is this similar to rodinal or studional (as per digitaltruth)
 
From what I've read its the same as Studional and its just sold under a different name in Europe compared to the USA.
 
If struggling with definite times then try semi stand developing 1:100 solution, soup for an hour, agitate for 30 seconds to start with then a couple of turns at 30 mins.
 
Well after 5 mins 20C 1+15, they are all over exposed.

Well...they were both multi-exposed rolls so hard to judge what happened there.

Asha- Howdoes the 1 hour developing help?? I don't see how that is more accurate?

I've devd different brands and speeds of b&w negative films together and obtained reasonable to good results.

In fact I've litteraly just hung to dry 4 sheets of Adox CHS film,.....all out of date, two rated at 25 iso, the other two at 100 iso. Look to be good results from 3 of them, the fourth lacks contrast for some reason, possibly due to shooting into the sun, however sharpness is still there and the overall exposure is about right.

Basically stand or semi stand deving offers an alternative if unsure of specific deving times or, if like me, i couldn't be pestered making two seperate soups and deving seperatley for the two different speeds.

All this said, i don't use it as a "standard" form of developing.
 
That's kind of the conclusion I'd come too. It's also a great way of rescuing a roll if you set the meter wrong, or have similar issues.

Temp doesn't matter within reason.

If it devs at approx 20 celsius all will be good.

If the temp is likely to drop a a few degrees during the one hour period then start it off at say 22 celsius if you feel more comfy knowing it will balance at the other end when it reaches 18 degrees!

In all honesty it doesn't really matter ( or not in my experiences). Similarly I have accidently forgotten about it and had it stand for nearly an hour and a half with no adverse effects.

Be sure to agitate ( gentle couple of turns) about half way through though otherwise the concentrate won't be even over the whole film.
