Urban areas of the North of England

Liverpool - north docks
Sheffield - look for the old steel making areas, cutlers, etc, also out towards Rotheram
Newcastle - shipyards, both sides of the Tyne east of the city
Middlesbrough - dockyards again, active steelworks nearby, bridges
Hartlepool - magnesite works
Manchester - various mills on the outskirts
Leeds - look for the old industrial areas, Tower Works is a good start

You know about 28DL anyway, so you could search there too.

Hull. Various sites along the river Hull, both banks. Particularly the British extracting co. and Clarance mills. You might need to hop a fence or two...

Tower works have on site security now, and they are on the ball.
On and off site in less than 5 mins at the weekend. They were very fair and gave no problems.

The old sec used to b****r of home at 6pm mon-fri and not even come in weekends.

Get youself on one of the weekend train rides around the UKs largest steelworks here in Scunthorpe. Although not exactly a run down area, it is a fascinating look into a working steel centre with access to areas not open to the general public. It's also safer than trying to get in 'under the wire' so to say. See here http://www.afrps.co.uk/

When I went to Tower Works earlier this year there was no security there. I can't imagine what they're supposed to be guarding.

There are quite a few mills in Bolton and Farnworth. Also the disused Manchester, Bolton and Bury canal. Quite interesting :)

There used to be a fair few chimneys too, but Fred Dibnah demolished 'em all! :D

Tell me about it, been none on for years. It's like YCL they put sec on there and seriously boarded it up after the pikies had stripped just about every bit of metal out of there and wrecked the admin building.
In most places it alway seems to be reactive instead of proactive.
