No
hello all,
I tried to work in Raw last night just to expriement with it. The problem is when I plugged the usb lead to the camera to upload the pictures, my software said there was no pictures to upload???
I have photoshop CS3, but how can I work on them if I can't upload them?
Sorry if this sounds a stupid question, but am still learning..

What software are you using? Which OS are you using?

Can you access the card's contents from the desktop?

I am using fine pix viewer to upload the pictures, and I am using windows XP OS...

I don't understnd what you mean by that???

When you plug your camera into the computer does it appear as a drive on the desktop? Only reason I am asking is that if it does you can check that the files are actually there. Once you know they are there it is a matter of finding the correct software. You have a Nikon and Windows, you could try a free trial of Lightroom 2 just to check everything is working as it should.

If it is then there are other pieces of software that you can use instead.

I have got picture project that I had with the Nikon.. Would that work ?

Yes it should do. First we need to find out if the files are right.

Shooting RAW is worth the extra initial effort, really it is. You can get superb images from files that you might otherwise have to throw away after fixing white balance and small errors of exposure just to start with!

Great stuff!! That uploaded them..
What do I do now lol???

The POINT of shooting in RAW is that you can convert the images yourself. This allows you to fix some of the most common faults such as white balance completely! Other faults such as exposure can be fixed far more easily as RAW than JPG. Basically if your pictures are all perfect then you will simply use the Nikon software to convert them into JPGs or TIFFs or PNGs etc... If there are any faults then that is where the RAW bit comes in. Just select one of the images and then try adjusting it and you will be surprised just what differences you can make.
