I am seriously thinking of getting an iPad to replace my old laptop that i only use to surf the web while watching TV (Being sociable with the Mrs!) I intend to use the iPad for internet browsing and some image editing also it would be handy to have on holiday for photo storage.

Question is...If i take a bunch of full size/quality JPG's and upload them to the iPad does the iPad resize the images and if so what size are they resized to? I was told this by a friend but not sure how true it is.

Also if I go for the iPad 2 where does it store the images / how do you access the images? Not had a iPad before. I'll prob go for the new iPad 3 as it has iPhoto.

Any help appreciated.

You can get iPhone on the old iPads too.

For my portfolio shots on my iPad I resize them to iPad screen resolution and sync through iTunes, that just means that they are stored as an album.

If you use the camera adapter to import them directly the files are unchanged and it even show the raw files. To read them just connect the iPad to the pc, ignore iTunes and just move the files from the new drive in my compuer the same way as if you directly connected the camera.

Files only get resized if you put them in the photo album directories and sync them back to the iPad using iTunes.

Ok I didn't know the raw files included a jpeg copy. I find it's still very good at previewing even when you shoot in raw only.

Thanks guy's, good to know.
