dont suppose you have a spare uni e-mail address anywhere do you :naughty:

being serious , why cant kids in fulltime education , i.e. secondary school take advantage of this , both of my kids have school e-mail addresses but obviously dont have the crucial .ac bit in them :suspect:

i agree with you.

and no i aint got a spare uni email as ive used it already

I'm busy installing three copies of Windows 7 just now

One down, 2 to go

dont get my upgrade until december, not sure why i have to wait for so long though

I've been using the release candidate for a few months now, I think it is great.
So many improvements over Vista too.

all installed, so far ive not really noticed the difference apart from i need to do something about this translucent taskbar!

it installed much quicker than previous windows installs

I wonder if my old .ac email address stills works, only left 3 months ago. Worth a try if only I can remember it! :(

the real question is why would you want to upgrade to 7?
particularly so soon after the launch, remembering all the fun whenever microsoft have launched any new OP system.

I am happy running XP

you need to be able to access the inbox to retrieve a code though :bang:

Because even the RC version has been bulletproof mor many people

That's probably the most useful thing I find. Whenever you open a program for the 1st time, right click on it on the taskbar and 'pin to start menu'

Ends up looking a bit like a Mac, but hell, if it works!

Been running it for a fortnight now lol

I have an email address for work ending in .ac.uk aswell that isn't used

Can you buy 1 student copy, per say, and install it on 2 machines???

I have an MSDN subscription, so had access to the shrink-wrap months ago.

Have x64 version installed on my new PC, very nice, quicker than Vista, GUI has some nice improvements too and works well with Lightroom 2 x64.....

Ha Ha, thats illegal - one copy per machine as its an OS. Plus you have to activate it dont you?

If it was Office, and you were the sole User, and you had , say, a Desktop PC and a laptop then youd get product use rights to install one copy on each.
Reason, because you are sole User then you can only use one machine at a time.
This doesnt apply to operating systems though....

I was just checking!!! :p I'm probably upgrade our laptop from Vista you see, but the upstairs machine is running XP, so I was thinking I might clean install the pair of them (obviously I won't be now!!!)

bought my new laptop from tesco's last night win7 already on cool
