Upgrading to a new camera and what to do with my old camera

Coming back to my own questions:
So, to go back to the beginning @camerajamie : what is your current camera and what are you considering for an upgrade? Maybe all the observations above have helped or they may have just been an interesting read. What are you thinking of doing now, having had all that feedback? and perhaps even more to the point, what sort of photography do you like to do, that an upgrade might help with?

@camerajamie, what do you think?

I suspect you might wait a long time. ;)

Yes, this looks like a dud - the OP was either a bot or time-waster by the look of it.

Very direct, and not volunteering anything in the way of information. Do bots ask questions? I don't know really.

Over the weekend I implemented another alternative...

Since the pandemic most of my meetings for work have been online in MS Teams. I've become increasingly frustrated with the ancient Logitech webcam I had and was looking around at alternatives. Sure, there are plenty of fairly reasonably priced webcams around, but they are all limited in their exposure controls and have tiny sensors, limited dynamic range and massive depth of field. I'm tired of looking washed out and grainy - as a man in his mid-fifties I need all the help I can get on screen!

Anyhow, I have original Sony A7 that technically has been my backup body for the last several years, but frankly has remained largely unused. Combined with a 35mm f/2.8 lens, a cheap HDMI to USB capture dongle and various LED lights I had knocking around, I now have a full-frame webcam with a four-light setup worthy of YouTube. :)
