Yes
Im going to upgrade my crop to 5d3, I currently have 50 mm, canon 16-35 and Canon 70-200 f4, should I get the 24-105 that is offered at reduced price if you buy the camera or just the body? Thanks for your help....

Yes. Looking at what you currently have, there's big gap in the middle. It will probably become your most used lens - it certainly is mine.

I got my 24-105 f4 L as the kit lens to a 5D2 last november. It spent about as much time on my 7D as it did my 5D2 and I found it to be my most used lens from november to april this year. It's a great lens because of its range and IQ. Now I have a 5D3 it spends nearly as much time on that as my Sigma 150-500 OS which I use to shoot wildlife and aviation. If you have a gap in your arsenal then it's a great lens to fill the gap.

It's on my 50D all the time. I would think on a full frame it would be perfect

Same here - was my most used lens on my 7D, and has taken on a new lease of life on the 5D3 (24mm is back to actually being properly wide again when on FF!)

If you would use it then get it, if you don't see yourself using it then don't and save the money for something you would use.

I truly appreciate your comments, my biggest decision was to for the 5d3, drains my piggy bank but I can not wait, I will surely get the lens as well. Once again thank you all.

For the last 2 yrs I've had a 5dii, 16-35, 50mm & 70-200, so basically your focal length setup. In the end, when I wanted v good IQ I shot with the lenses I had and adapted my style, esp with the prime on, but the 28-135 I also had was so damn versatile it was often used. It's not too fast though, so there were times I when it wasn't suitable.

I've (literally this week) re-evaluated my lens line-up and I'm probably going to buy a 24-70 f2.8 to fill the mid range, but I know I'll miss the longer end on a walk around zoom. The whole point of these lenses are their versatility, and having moderately wide to moderately tele, with IS, is not to be underestimated. If f4 is enough, then the 24-105 is a v good option.

Personally, with your range of lenses, if I was getting the 5D MKIII, I would purchase the lens as well, as you say, it's discounted and at the end of the day, if you decide you don't like you could easily sell it on...
