Upgrading NAS capacity

Hi TPers, I currently running WD My Cloud EX 2100 with a 2tb storage. Unfortunately, it is now running out and I am planning to upgrade to 8tb Red HDD.

Does anybody have experience in storage upgrade on a similar model?

Any input will be much appreciated, many thanks.

8TB is a lot of data to lose if the drive fails.

Do you have redundancy?

Not too familiar on the WD NAS, is it raided? Of course you would need 2 x 8TB in a Raid 1 setup.

@stu.h it is currently running at RAID 1 setup, total capacity is 4TB. The plan is to purchase 2x 8TB and running RAID 1 setup. Do you know if 4 bays allow 2 disk runs at RAID 1, the other two running at RAID 0 or JBOD? Thanks.
