This has probabley been asked a million times before but does anyone have any advice over which way to go?
I'v been using DPP for a few months waiting until I felt I'd mastered a good deal of it before potentially upgrading. I did actually have lightroom on trial awhile ago before getting an DSLR but never really delved into its more advanced functionality.
I shoot mostly landscapes in RAW and while I take a fair few shots the actual editting is normally limated to picking on a small number of the better ones so workflow isnt really a big consideration for me.
One of the main areas I'm looking to get into that DPP doesnt seem to offer is edditing individual areas of an image(brightness, colour etc), which of these two programs has more functionality in that reguard?
I can't say I'm a fan of the typical "HDR" look that from what I'v heard(I know little about it) is tonemapping but some stuff I'v seen called manual exposure blending/merging has impressed me alot, would Elements be able to do that? would I need to convert to JPG first?
