Thinking about upgrading my Nikon 18-70 more so for a constant f2.8 aperture and more pleasing bokeh......

Budget isn't huge so probably looking at either a

Tamron 17-50
Sigma 17-50
Tamron 24-75

Bodie's a D7100 & I'm not overly fussed about losing a bit of focal length.

Or am I better off keeping my money in my pocket as the IQ of my 18-70 has never been an issue.

Any advice appreciated...

I have the 18-70 and now have the Tamron 17-50 VC. The Tamron is a great lens and good upgrade, but the Nkon is also really nice. If you need low light or more bokeh then it's very nice to have that option.

Hi

I have a d90 and had the 18-70 but sold it after I bought a tamron 17 - 50 non vc. I am very happy with with the tamron and it is always on my D90.

Thanks, I've read positive reviews regarding the non VC 17-50 and some not so good regarding the newer VC version....

Anyone with any experience of a Sigma 17-50??
