I am about to upgrade my PC, it will have Vista installed, will all my software, i e Photoshop CS2, Elements 5, Scanner & printer ect, be compatible, at the moment I am using XP Home.
The main problems with Vista are usually driver related. It might be worth you checking the manufacturers websites for your hardware to see what you can expect. 32-bit Vista is more accomodating than 64-bit Vista.
There is a 64bit version of XP as well, but it wasn't as widespread.
There are several benefits of going 64-bit. The main one being that 64-bit Windows can use more than 4GB of RAM. But it can be difficult to find drivers for 64-bit Vista. I run it and have only had one problem (a old-ish game wouldn't run).
