Yes
I have decided it's time to upgrade my camera.

I am currently using a D40 but it's very poor iso performance is bugging me.

I was thinking of the D90 but not sure if it's any better?

The D300 looks like it might fit the bill.

Any suggestions?

Nick

can't comment, but surely the d300 is in a different league to the d90

Yeah i would agree.

The main thing i want is good iso performance, not sure how good the D90 is but i have been told the D300 is excellent in low light/high iso

The D90 is basically just a "consumer" version of the D300, so performance will be broadly similar, in fact I've read reports of the D90 actually bettering the D300's high iso performance...

It's the pro build and plethora of pre set progs and function buttons you pay for on the D300, in a A P article they tested very close for image quality, which is superb, but he said if moneys no problem get the D300, if it's not a semi pro spec camera you want get the D90.... but if going for the D90 just don't handle the D300 as you'll want that!!!!!!!!!!

Never handled a D90 but I picked up a D300 and never looked back - Love it!

Do you already have faster lenses? If not that may be the way forward...?
