:lol: Ok then Chris you have two options imo. You have mentioned to your girlfriend about it and she has given her opinion, you either respect that opinion or you go out and do what you want to do and buy it. We dont know her so if you go and buy it, will she forgive you once the dust and feathers have settled :shrug: or will she class it as a selfish act? You could try talking it through but if she stands her ground then you are most likely to get more frustrated with the situation and that in turn leads to all sorts of upsets. I do not think you can get the answer from anybody but yourself and girlfriend.

I sold my FireBlade and expected to use the cash generated to buy shiny new togging kit. But I got Mrs J to double check the cash and that was the last I saw of it :lol:

I loved that bike :'( (and I've saved around £500 per year by not having to insure it either!!)

I suspect the vote is betraying the general brow beaten status of the married/relationshipped men here! We are just trying to save you great testicular pain. And that the reason not to spend the money is very sensible....

Since damaging my knee over a year ago I haven't been able to ride it. I can't keep my knee on the peg for more than about 10-15 minutes. Fine commuting with all the stop start stuff but I couldn't ride it properly, so it's been sitting in the garage doing nothing. Since it's MOT in June I've put 62 miles on it, and 40 of those were a round trip to work & back.

The theory was that it would pay for a couple of lenses and some strobist kit, obviously I didn't read my marriage contract properly :rules:

Bit undecided here, if you wait until you buy the house you will never have enough cash

On the other hand why upset the lady in your life, so how about a compromise and buy a new cheaper upgrade like a 5D mk2

Sorry, gone against the camera buying in the poll

Strange no-one has pointed out that a jump from a 1000D to a 1D mk4 is HUGE.

yeah it is... i bought in at the lowest spec because i didnt know if i was any good or if i would enjoy it so i bought cheap... i now enjoy it so im looking to go in at the top of my game...

had some issues at the weekend with my 18-125mm lens rattling and showing an 'Err01 - dirty contacts' :( so i think one of them is knackered :(

might have to have a look at 24-70 + 70-200 soon *sigh*
