Hi Everyone
I am currently shooting with a Canon 450d. Somehow this has seen me through professionally for the last few years or so but I am in need of an upgrade.
I like to photograph tethered to my lap top and the USB connection seems to have broken.
I need a camera that is compatible with Bowens flash lighting system as all of my work is studio based.
I don't have a high budget (looking approx £300).
Only need camera body.
So far the Canon EOS 100D has been suggested and the Canon EOS 1200D.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Lise

Hi Lise,

What about a used 60d for under £300 or even a used 50d? WEX has 50d's for anything from £165 up. I had a 50d actually 3 or 4 and in terms of build quality etc is certainly a step up from the 450d. Any camera will trigger your lights. All you have to do is connect them via the lead or triggers.

Is there a risk in buying previously used equipment though?

I would always buy used. The savings are just too great and camera's are hardy little things as long as they've not been abused. I would find a good rule of thumb is to buy from someone with feedback on here or from a shop like wex where you will get a guarantee. The shutter count can be a good indicator. I would be looking at something under 30,000 but that's just me. I have bought second hand for years with no issues whatsoever.
