Yes
The CMS and I are just heading to London with our cameras, yes the CMS now has her own Olympus Trip, and wondered if you good folks had any location suggestions. We'll only be here for the day so central London would be best.

Cheers

Andy.

I can definitely confirm that central London is indeed the best for photography, there's loads of stuff worth pointing a camera at.

You're welcome. :)

Well you'll need more than a day as there are so many things to shoot, but central London could mean National and Portrait gallery (Trafalgar square), street shooting in the Chinese area and Soho, theatres, British Museum....longish walk to Whitehall, Horseguards, house of parliament. Maybe it's best to look up on the net for what to see for tourists and you can choose what\where you would like to take photos.

I've heard Greenwich is nice... ;)

Seriously, the tall buildings and narrow streets can be a problem. But places like Trafalgar Square, down the Mall, up around St James's, Westminster, and along the Embankment are all good. Some of the small parks on the way south from Euston are interesting. British Museum...

Not sure where you can get good photography inside, if it's really peeing down, but the forecast seems to be predicting fairly clear until later in the afternoon, so good move!

Cheers Chris, pretty much what we are doing. Hopefully the weather will stay ok for a bit longer.

Get the tube to Tower Hill, walk across Tower Bridge then walk along the river maybe drop down to The Shard then all along the south bank past Tate Modern and The Globe theatre to the Royal Festival Hall and the London Eye.

Well if going that way St Katherines dock could be interesting...but the problem with most subjects in London is there are 1000's of shots on the net and finding an new angle is difficult, unless you just want the mrs in the pic with a record shot and that would be unique.

Don't forget your passports...you may get in, but once they realise that you're a pair of them strange Northern (ish) folk, they'll want to do "studies" on you both :wideyed::D

I'm actually a tad jealous as i like central / tourist London ( for an hour or two anyway!:p)

Enjoy!

Well, we've had a right old mooch. Mainly down the backroads and keeping away from the tourist bits. Great fun and it hasn't rained yet.
Time for a brew and some water for the ferrets :D
