up and running ..

Well looks like im officially up and running in the studio stakes now .. been a long haul getting things sorted over the last 10 months or so ... from a ramshackled dirty oily cobwebbed bomb site to something quite attractive and functional ... currently buying and building some props and adding some additional fixed backdrops to the brick walls at the back of the vinyl backgrounds and to the side .. the photos below show No 1 studio only on the ground floor but theres a second almost identical studio in the upstairs area .. Using Lencarta lighting as main lights and will be adding some more very soon .. also got plenty of light tents and Lencarta continuous lighting upstairs too ..

Looking at sorting some group modelling days once ive added a few extra background features ..

So hope to see some of you there at a group shoot possibly !

That's got great potential, and please don't take this the wrong way, but as shown it's just a great big light tent with very little scope for creative lighting. Good light is about creating shadows and highlights and shape.

Depending on what you want to do of course, but ideally, get some black curtains or dark screens along the walls and ceiling. Make the front lights more mobile relative to the background. Ditch those shoot-through brollies.

Yes i have plenty of other items not in the shots above .. 3x6m black vinyl - softboxes etc ... also the 1st floor studio has black painted bricks in one corner that are ideal for low key mood shots ..
