I hope this isn't too noobish.:)

I make no great claims for the quality of the pic, but it shows a problem with my Canon 30D. About half way across and 2/3 of the way up the picture are some blobs which appear in many pictures, especially with sky. I've cleaned lenses with no effect, so I guess it's inside the camera.

Can any one tell what the problem is and how I fix it?

Thanks all.

Another way to check a dirty sensor is to take a photograph at say f22 of a white wall or an all blue sky then in Photoshop Levels click Auto

Thanks chaps. Didn't quite get a clear blue sky today here, but an F22 shot is quite shocking!

I'll read up later on how to expose my sensor, fnarr, fnarr.:)

That's one mucky sensor!

wow thought mine was dirty because it had three spots on it lol.

Deffinatly needs a clean, buy yourself a rocket blower and try that to see how much it will remove and if not then it will have to be a wet clean. Have a look on youtube there are loads of tutorials on this and you can buy the swabs and liquid off ebay releativley xheap.

Good video Tom thanks for sharing, it looks easy but the heart still pounds and the hands get swetty!!

that's bad - needs a clean. best put your patience hat on

Don't worry about it I've seem much worse than that. And sensor dust is a fact of life with digital cameras. Check out this LINK and it'll give you a fair bit of info on just how to clean a sensor.

Thanks everyone for all the replies, this has bugged me for a little while and I had imagined I would need to spend loads of money with a camera repairer.

Now to buy a rocket and some swabs.

Have a look at the Lenspen SensorKlear

My FIL old Minolta DSLR was worse than this and used one of these with a blower as well and cleaned it up no problem

When I had to clean my sensor on a D300s (when I had it) I got some swabs from Flash (FITP) which done the trick - but if he still does these or sells on here is another thing.....

Glad you got it cleaned and glad the video helped out.
Those are the swabs I use mostly and seem to do a good job
