Just spoken to a guy at work, who said his dad was a fellow of the royal photographic society and probably has some old cameras in the loft if I want them, he mention some rollies and nikons were definitely up then. I'm thinking I could make use of them give them some love and shutter action. He then says 'and another mate has a hassleblad' nice I'm thinking 'he couldn't afford the digital back for it and can't be bothered with film, he doesn't reckon it could be worth much so is using it as a doorstop to his office'!!!

I've asked if he would like me to exchange it for an alternative doorstop of his choice!

Anyone else come across decent cameras being ignored, a tatty leica at the boot sale for £3etc.

I got one Leica M6 TTL for 500€, in like new condition. It was an excellent price.

Last bargain was one Angenieux 180mm f/2.3 APO for 197€. It had fungus but I sold it for 600€ (still a nice price).

well - at the moment I've a EOS-3,EOS-30, A-1, Bronica ETRSi,Voigtlander Perkeo and a Fed3b which have had collectively something like 4 rolls of film through them since the start of the year! I'm beginning to feel like a complete fraud even posting in F&C to be honest, it's that long since I shot anything - last film I exposed was the 2 shots on the start of the first roll of the travelling Holga!

There are some absolute bargains around (Just missed an OM40 for a fiver at a CBS the other month)because many people dont realise that film cameras are still totally useable in the digital age,the Hassy doorstop is not the worst I have heard of a mate told me of an OM1 and OM2 that went to the tip because the owner had just bought a DSLR

Doorstop is worse in my books, considering it's a 'blad. It's the premier 6x6 medium format SLR.

I'm sure some thrifty person may have saved them - there's quite a few people in the I Shoot Film group at flickr who seem to hunt down a fair amount of gear doing that.

Swap the 'blad for a Holga filled with cement!

Whilst shooting that wedding on Friday a lot of folks came up to me and said they still have Uncle Bob's old SLR in the cupboard If I fancied it, so maybe a few bargains coming my way!

My butcher was picking my brains about a DSLR this morning and was intimating his old Ricoh KR10 was going in the bin, need to take that off his hands

At this time, there seams to be great bargains.
Many countrys in crisis, so cameras, lens and other items that are not being used, have to go.
So just need to be in the right place at the right time :)
