Anybody done this successfully?

I've read a couple of guides on the internet but they seem pretty complicated. I need to roll back to ML. Without losing all my data.

Can you not complete a full back up, clean install Mountain Lion then re-import your data/files?

That's basically what the internet says to do. Though obtaining a clean install of ML isn't as easy as you might hope.

There are also some libraries that you mustn't restore as they contain Mavericks information and apparently that ends badly.

My daughter has done it on her new MacBook Pro. She did so because Epson, as usual!!, haven't updated their drivers. It was easy but she's out now until tomorrow so i can't ask her.

I'll see if I can find an Apple support page for you............ (back soon)................

Here's a start....

http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14176

If that doesn't help you then either search or register on Apple Discussions and ask your question, it's a very useful forum with no strings attached.

Hadn't heard the issue re the Libraries.

For ML can you not down load it from the App store? http://store.apple.com/uk/product/D6377ZM/A/os-x-mountain-lion

Thanks. Looks like I'd have to pay for it again too :( Also, I'd need to get Lion running on the machine before I can install Mountain Lion (!!!). Which seems quite a hassle.

Thanks. The trick is identifying which files have changed since I installed Mavericks. Idiotically I forgot to test one very important piece of s/w when I upgraded about a week ago.
