Yesterday I set up a new wireless USB adapter so that I can have router downstairs, everything's working as it should last night and for the first part of tonight.

In network sharing center at the top I'm getting unidentified network, just below in the connection, view status, I go into that and it's telling me I'm connected to my talk talk router strong signal. But it saying I'm only connected locally (IPv4 connectivity... Local)

Hope it's not my graphics card again. !!!!

Any ideas guys?

Open up a cmd window and type ipconfig

What is your up address?

If it starts with 169. It is not getting an ip address from the router.

It might be obvious but have you turned it off and on and have you removed the USB adapter, restarted the over andnplugged it back in after everything has finished booting.

whats cmd window ,sorry I'm computer illiterate lol.

When I punch in ipconfig then click on it, it doesn't open, just does a quick flash up as quick as a blink then disappears, still no connection! !!!

Every time since I've lost connection when I boot up the p c I get the dialup connection pop up
