Hi guys,

Bit of a random question hopefully someone will be able to advise me...

I need to create a commercial for a university assignment and i'm wanting to do it in the kind of style the Prodigy - Smack my bitch up music video.

Through the eyes of the person for anyone who hasn't seen it.

At present I don't have either a dslr or a hd cam. My friend has a Canon HFS100 I believe...

My question is to get the fish eye effect which I presume is used within that video, am I best buying a fish eye lens for my friends hd-cam? am I best getting a dslr with a fish eye lens? is there anywhere to rent this kind of equipment? Can the fish eye effect by done in editting?

I'm located in the Midlands.

Appreciate any help/advice anyone can suggest.

fish eye adapter for your friend's camcorder would be cheapest and easiest :)

dslr + fish eye lens would be far higher quality, but have problems.
 
Can I just let people know the video is NSFW!!

How much of a budget do you have?
Can you use any of the Uni's kit?
 
Cheers for the replies, the video is SFW, it cuts at 1:14 so you don't get to see anything...

Well budget wise i'm not entirely sure, I know that if I bought anything i'd have to sell it on (or cheekily take it back straight after using it for a refund).

My mates camera is brilliant quality video wise (which is what i'm being assessed on).

The one thing I dont want is like a tunnel effect where you can see the edges of the lens in the shot, I want it full size kind of thing.
 
I will ask at uni on Tuesday if they have anything available but i'm pretty sure they won't...kit wise.

I think the best idea would be to use my mates Canon hfs100, would jessops sell a fish eye lens for this cam?
