When I am in Turkey, I would love to get some underwater shots, but, I don't want to risk my camera in one of those protective plastic bag thingies.
Are the single use underwater cameras any good and is there any that are better than others ?
My budget is up to £20 for one.

To be honest they're ok but not brilliant. I purchased 2 when I went scuba diving in the Dominican and got very different pictures from them. One camera was ok the other not so good. They were the same make same everything and purchased at the same time.

Well, I plan on just wading in the clear section of the water, where it is warm.
I have seen a video on youtube and there seems to be some marine life, small fish and such like, I want to capture those, my other thought is to take my Canon EOS 500N film camera with some film and try out one of those protective bag things, it wasn't an expensive camera, so, doesn't matter if stuff goes wrong, I also have a cheapish lens I can use on it, so, I think that will be the plan of action.

I went diving in Mexico and a Japanese guy came with us with his D3 and 24-70 lens inside what looked like a plastic bag with a zip on it. I said to my Mrs I'd be bricking it taking that in the water. He didn't bat an eyelid diving in and swimming around lol.
I did buy a Fuji compact which is water resistant to 3 mtrs which wasn't that expensive, ideal for snorkelling and cause you're on the surface light isn't to much of an issue.

Bought one to use in Jamacia, results were unimpressive(total cost inc developing £20) got one decent picture from 27. I am off to Egypt next week with a Kodak C123 which i borrowed from a friend, water proof to 3Mtrs. tests in the fish tank at home look really good(it was that or the bath).

You can buy a half decent waterproof (well to 5 mts or so) for around a £100 it's going to cost you £30-40 for disposables/processing and the quality will be fairly poor. You then have a compact to "carry around" all the time as well as better UW pics.

I always use Kodak Sports 800ISO single use film cameras when snapping for fun on holiday. They've never failed me altho I find the focal length a little long at times. These can be had 2 for £11 on offer in most large boots stores. I wouldn't recommend them for 'photography' purposes tho, just personal shots.

I got myself a vivitar waterproof 5mp thing for the honeymoon to to Maldives, gobbled up batteries and was a bit unpredictable but once i got the hang of it (it liked to shoot some long exposures lol) i got some amazing photos and video. However i got a tiny amount of sand in the battery compartment seal and drowned during a particularly deep snorkle dive. Did manage to save the sd card tho and we had our dives done by the time i killed it but if i didn't wreak it i think i would still be dunking it in the bath today lol
Was only around 60 quid

Well, made my choice, bought an 8mp camera from Maplins, has video on it and what helped me decide was that on the Maplin website, people has put their videos they took using the camera and they was pretty decent, only £39.99 too, so, sorted.
