We always recommend Bryan Peterson's Understanding Exposure book so today whilst looking to buy a copy for my cousin, I saw he's just released a new one: Understanding Flash Photography: How to Shoot Great Photographs Using Electronic Flash and Other Artificial Light Sources. It was only published this month.

It can be found for under £10 on Amazon, so I might get a copy for myself soon on the basis it will be equally good.

Though it might be of interest to others too.

Might also want to check out:

On-Camera Flash Techniques for Digital Wedding and Portrait Photography - Only £15 on Amazon. It's also a great book.

The author (Neil van Niekerk) has a website which again is very useful for beginners who want to get into flash photograph and may help you decide if you want the book or not. Check out:

All the links to the other pages are on the right in blue.

I might get me one too :)

Have recently watched his DVD "The Perfect Picture". He is actually a great teacher.

There are some really handy tips on how to correctly expose difficult scenes, composition and to get you thinking creatively.

More aimed at beginners like myself but I found it really good

Slight off topic I know...

No, thanks. Didn't realise he had a dvd out.

Anyway, can't find a date for the release of the book. Was hoping to buy it within the next month so I can read it on holiday.

sounds great, perfect for me at my current stage of the flash learning curve - I was in a studio for the first time very recently

Has anyone read this yet? It seems to be back in stock at all the usual outlets....

Having read 'Understanding Exposure' it Would be good to hear what think of this latest book.
