I have the first edition of this (bible), can anyone tell me if the revised edition is as informative.

Thanks Mitch

Can't see how it can be improved upon if the original is as good as it appears. How much could've changed since it's publication? The only thing I can think of that's altered is the dynamic range of some sensors and the advent of HDR.....

Light and sensor/emulsions haven't changed that much have they? Or have I been a asleep?

I got the first from the library and then bought the second. Both are excellent books but not worth getting the 2nd if you already have the 1st.

A Must buy for anyone new to photography IMHO

Thanks guys you just saved me some money:thumbs:

If anyone looks at this thread, this really is a book worth buying and teaching you the basics and the relationship of all matters pertaining to exposure.

I am so pleased quite a few folk on here seem to like this book.

I bought it just over a week ago, quite reasonable from Amazon and only bought it as they "recommended" it to me. I bought it as 33 people had reviewed it which seemed quite a lot but only 1 didn't give it a great review, everyone else said 4/5 stars.

I am quite enjoying it and it is easy to read and not heavy going at all which is good for me as I'm still learning a heck of a lot. Lots of great photos as examples as well so you can see what he is talking about.

I too would recommend it to other "Learners"!!

Andrea
