Hi all,

I received an anonymous tip-off through a webform on my website at the weekend, about a norwegian newspaper using one of my images.

It was on the frontpage at the weekend but still visble on their site in their "IT" section

http://www.nettavisen.no/it/

and as the main image on this article

http://www.nettavisen.no/it/article2037138.ece

Now they have credited me which is nice, and even included that it's Creative Commons (99% of my images are creative-commons, non commercial). Now what is the problem is clearly they are commercial so violating the licence as they didn't seek my permission at all to use the image.

Tbh, i'm not that bothered, would be nice if they put a link in for my name or something of course, but wondering what course of action would you take?

Firstly, congrats on the publication.
I think i would send an invoice, along with the T&C's outlining commercial use of your images. This might lead to some form of payment:shrug:
Take it from there then, i suppose.
Dean:)

Thanks Dean,

I've just dropped him an email with an invoice for usage :)

Seems cheeky though, a newspaper you'd think would know all about copyright, yet here they are caring little for the copyright on images.

Indeed. Just invoice. No haggling, straight invoice. They know the score.
