A friend of mine asked me to take some photos for him as a favour. Which I did, capturing in raw and converting to jpeg images in dpp.
I used iphoto email link to send them off and he received them no problem.
My friend is a lifestyle coach mentor and pleased with the results he wanted to upload a few onto his website but said that no matter what he tried he couldn't do so.
Neither of us have the brains to part our hair on this subject and I am fairly new to digital photography.

Images shot on a 7D. From the meta data at a resolution of 350dpi.
Am I right in thinking in uploaded jpeg images have to be at a resolution of 72dpi?
Is 8 bit or 16 bit info anything to do with it?

I have scrapped the jpeg images and would like to start the process again.
I would be very grateful if some kind soul could list the process of correctly converting to jpeg at the correct resolution so that I can email the images again. I have recently acquired photoshop elements and photos are stored there. My friend is at wedding in Australia and returns at the end of the month so I would like to sort it before then.
If this is too longwinded a point in the right direction for reading material would be appreciated.

Thank you In anticipation

Andrew

Your friend should check to see if the images are marked read only, and if they are then to change it. Also if he is trying to upload the full size files then that would be a problem as they need resizing for the web.

Jpeg images cannot be 16 bit so it is not that.

If you wish to redo it in Elements then go to File > Batch Process Files and follow the image I have posted using your own setting.

Warning be sure to set a different destination folder to the one the images are in, otherwise you will overwrite your originals with downsized images!

Also to let you know that the embedded resolution matters not one bit. What matters is the pixel dimensions of the image and the actual file size, and making sure that they don't exceed any limits imposed by whichever website you are trying to upload them to.

Thankyou Scarecrow really appreciate your help
