Unable to get Lan connection

Hi all,
Help needed again. Just moved router from bedroom to lounge, as had builders in and they drilled hole for cable through wall for me.
We have WiFi in rooms, however the cable running from router to pc appears not to work as saying the network cable is unplugged. Its a new cable (cat 6, as only one they had in 10m).
Going through the network set up, it says local area connection is disconnected, but know it's plugged in both ends.
All help appreciated.
 
I'd say the first thing to try is a different cable?
 
Just gone and bought one. Stupidly the old receipt was in with the bag I threw away, but woman in maplins said they would search on system for the receipt.

Yup or do you know anyone with a network cable integrity tester.
