Thought it was finally time to peep out from my hiding place. I've been lurking for a bit now, but you seem like a much friendlier bunch than a lot of forums I've seen 
I feel a welcome post is time to come clean... I am a total beginner, as in, I'm still on a point and shoot
I've just started experimenting with my grandads old Fujica STX-1n, which is several years older than me. I'm just giving out a warning because at some point in the next few weeks I will be asking for advice on entry-levels 
I do have one little question... IF I can come up with an idea in time can I enter you monthly photo competition...even being new/having a inadequate camera?
I'll be off to make a nuisance of my self on some threads then
