Ultra wide-angle for MFT?

I've been a bit disappointed with my Olympus 14mm f2.5 - great outdoors but not up to my hopes inside.
What ultra wide-angle would you recommend ... I'm thinking no more than 16mm and as fast as possible.

Panasonic 9/1.7 is very good, but in short supply.
Wasn't impressed with the Olympus 12/2 although the Panasonic 15/1.7 is very good.

Since I got the 9 i'm not using the 15 much at all and will probably be letting it go soon.

I got my 9mm back in June from the first shipment, not many made it to the UK
Think they are still waiting in the US and Australia for their deliveries although I know some made it to Germany
Not sure yet about the 15mm, will have a look at prices around and about
I also have the 25/1.4 and various lenses that go down to 12mm so the 15mm gets very little use

Just had a look on Usedlens.co.uk and cheapest on there for the 15mm in similar condition to mine is £334
So about fifty quid or so less for lack of warranty, probably about 275 quid when I get round to listing it.

I have two ultra wides the Olympus 7-14 and a Samyang 8mm which is a fisheye.

The Olympus 7-14mm f2.8 I find great, but being one of the Pro range is a big lens and if you get a little to close to something at the 7mm end it can distort very slightly.

The Samyang 8mm is a great little manual focus lens, stick it on f8 and set your hyper focal distance and everything is in focus. But like all fish eyes it will distort, no idea if you can correct it as that is the whole reason I bought it. Also it is inexpensive on the used market.

I had the samyang 7.5 fisheye for a while wish I had kept it now , it can be de.fished in camera menu ,but also has a L/R profile that does a far better de.fishing job .
Not really being a landscape person I sold it to fund something else .but it was good everything from 2 inches to infinity was sharp .

Well went to Bath this morning and popped into LCE - the nice man sold me an Olympus 12-40 f2.8 Pro which fits the bill perfectly and I no longer have to carry around my 14 f2.5

I have the Panny 12-35mm f2.8 but I do love the Panny 14mm f2.5 because it's tiny. I think I'd sell the zoom before that tiny prime

Thanks Alan - yes the 14mm is very small and light but it just wasn't doing it for me.

I think you'll be very pleased. I have an Olympus E-M10ii which is a bit small for that lens - but I love the quality and colour rendition so much I have it attached almost continously.
I did coast to coast USA in July and I can count the images that weren't taken with it on two hands!

Thank you ... yes it does seem a very capable lens, it will be interesting to see how much I use it against my 42.5 f1.2 Nocticron.

That's a great lens Roger, perhaps not the lightest but IQ is excellent and a constant f2.8. I'm looking for another for myself.

I considered this but saw some poor reviews and the 12-40 f2.8 came up suddenly and seemed to fit the bill plus more.

That's a great lens Roger, perhaps not the lightest but IQ is excellent and a constant f2.8. I'm looking for another for myself.

The one at LCE was a good price and virtually Mint (though described as Good) and I am very pleased with the choice.
