Is there anyone on here that is a member of the UK Large Format Forum?

http://www.lf-photo.org.uk/forum

I'm registered on there but my account is not activated, it suggests contacting a board administrator but you can't do that without logging in!

I have tried to reply to the auto generated email which they used to confirm my registration but had no luck.

If there's a member on here that could give them a nudge I'd appreciate it.

I'm registered as Raglansurf on there as well.

Cheers

Sorry nick not me, large is far to large for me.

Try registering with your name as your username, last time I used a nickname and they didn't like it and asked that I change it to my proper name.

I'm not on there either Nick so afraid I can't help ...I spend enough time as it is on TP.....love it though!

Sent the admins a PM

Andrew

I found the same thing, registered but didn't hear from admin to activate my account. I gave up in the end. It would be helpful to know if your PM to their admin works.

Heard nothing yet I may just give it a miss.

Not a forum I'd looked at; but as a large format photographer I was interested after seeing this thread, and after your comments I decided to sign up. I've just done so, and immediately received the email saying that the account has been created but needs admin to approve it. I'll post here again if they do.

tbh it's mostly deader than a dead thing over there, it's essentially a classifieds forum with a couple of active threads at any one time. I think there ar eprobably more active LF togs on here than there, just not much written specifically about LF

Account should be activated.

Andrew

Interesting thread actually. I was thinking recently I should be more active on there. I have an account only I seem to hardly ever use it. Hearing that in reality it's really rather naff means I don't have to waste my time!

Think I'll stick to the good stuff :)

LFF is great, there's some really interesting stuff on there. Them problem with skipping uklf Woodsy is that if everyone does that the place dies :(

No doubt mate, but the main issue for a new member like myself is that, short of a large influx of people all at the same time, all willing to take part a lot, an individual talking basically seems to talk to the wall :/

EDIT:

It seems I got the two forums confused. lf-photo.org.uk I don't have an account for, as it seems I have the same issue as Nick - Account not activated yet. The large format photography forum I do have an account for and appears much more active!

Seem to recall Ed Bray being fairly caustic about his experience in joining the UKLF site, and it's true that there is very little activity there at the moment. It does pick up from time to time, but it's down to the members to get on and post something to spark debate. I PM'd someone about a classified ad at the start of July and he hasn't logged in since, so go figure that one out!

At least he managed to join  I haven't managed that.

If it is quiet in there, they aren't helping by keeping new blood out. Unless they prefer it quiet of course.

I'm still waiting for my membership approval - it seems that you only get in if an existing member proposes you (see posts above - you need an exisiting member to PM admin to get in). Based on this experience, I'll give it a miss.

It looks like this thread has prompted some action as my account has just been activated.

definitely sounds like they're running it on the "Members Club" basis - a bit like we joke around that F&C here is - the old crusty chaps sat in the red leather chairs muttering gibberish into their glass of claret

Balderdash man. Now where's that damn manservant of mine with the port....harrumph.

Ah, I sent him out for additional supplies of Moustache Wax old chap, hope you don't mind...what.

How very middle class, that chap above poured his own scotch.

Have finally managed to get on to the forum, thanks for the help guys

The last seven posts are very funny.:D
