Little lady is now one year old.

As all parents will empathise, I'm sure, sometimes when a child is naughty it's so cute the events that follow...

Little lady went and yanked my camera strap, - the camera was on something - fireguard or drawers - somewhere random. Anyway, it landed on the floor. She was with hubby. When she saw that it had landed on the floor, she says "uh oh!!", looks around for me and stops, staring at her Daddy. Bless her heart!

So cute really - she's also started bringing my camera to me sometimes when she wants her picture taken.

I hear uh oh far too often in my house. My 2 year old doesn't say much but yesterday he sat and did loads of activities in a sticker book for ages 3+.

The 'uh oh I forgot to use my potty and am attempting to clean it up with wet wipes before you come back in from the kitchen'. Thats the cutest. Yes, that one.

parents are strange things - in my weird non parent logic i'd have thought that nearly breaking an expensive camera would occasion a smacked arse (not necessarily litteraly, but a stern telling off at least) not an www how adorable

As a parent, I am not disagreeing with you Pete, and all the 20p's and "non standard" 50p's (britannia or shield) would not be put into piggy banks until camera had been repaired.

Just call me Victorian dad!

And we know who would get the blame even if it wasn't him ;)

I agree that parents are strange things, however, when a one year old (literally just turned one) knows that they've done something wrong and shows remorse...that's a cute (and proud mammy) moment. :D

Natt - I would put her out to work (chimney cleaning or floor scrubbing or grate blackening) until she had repaid the repairs. That way she will understand the consequences of her actions!

if they know its wrong not doing it in the first place would be preferable surely - and if you then give them lots of fuss , aren't you reinforcing the behaviour and suggesting that its not wrong after all

It's super nanny, do you have a taxi too :D

It's super nanny,

I nuthin about children - but its how you train a puppy , reinforce good behaviours ignore the bad ones. - if you 'reward' the bad ones it gets terminally confused and craps on the carpet
