I've just seen two abnormally bright lights in the sky - definitey not 'standard' aircraft given the brightness of the lights and the fact that one was stationary for a while ... at a guess they're heading south east and i'm based in the north west. Very strange.
 
Not sure how high Chinese lanterns can get, but these were very high, and certainly didn't have the flight characteristics of a balloon or a craft without an engine.

No pic's lol? Oh look there's a UFO, i'll get my SLR and 300mm lens...no?
 
We had that a couple of weeks ago, about a dozen of them just after sunset, eminating from either the University or town.

Gone within a couple of minutes after helicopter flew through them.

Police helo with it's Nite Sun lamp perhaps.
 
Sound very like UFOs to me.

#1, they haven't been identified.
#2, they were flying.
#3, they were objects.
 
My parents used to run a business hiring out multi beam searchlights, strangely the UFO sightings reported in the local press seemed to correlate with where they were being used.... coincidence? me thinks not!
