Yes
Has anyone had any success at photographing Deer in Uffmoor woods, I've been going most days for the last 2 weeks and haven't even seen one yet, I've only found a dead Muntjac :(
There's plenty of evidence that they are there but I still haven't seen any.

Would you believe I live in halesowen but don't really know where uffmoor woods are!

Are they at to bottom of the bypass just below clent hills

Yes, If you go along the bypass from Manor Way then just before the island turn off left into Uffmoor Lane, there's a car park about a mile up the lane on the left.

Iv'e seen Munjac in Uffmoor Wood and Fallow deer in Hagley Wood, but Hagley is privately owned although I think if you ask permission you should get it. I did many years ago and got some mediocre shots, ie not good enough to post on here even if I knew how to do it, and yes Ben, Uffmoor is off the by-pass going towards Clent.

Finally spotted one ! :) well the back end of one disappearing into the woods, not sure which kind but it looked mainly grey.

What time of day are you looking?

The one today was about 11 ish, I'm going to try and go early tomorrow 7ish, could do with it snowing again so I can follow their tracks easier. It must be overun with them due to the amount of droppings in some of the clearings :)

Went out at 7.15 this morning and spotted 4 Roe deer today approx 150 ft from the path, watched them through the binoculars for a few minutes untill they disappeared into the undergrowth. I went to the same spot about 1/2 hour later and they had returned, so tomorow I'm going armed with camera :)

Best time to see deer around here is dawn and dusk. You could almost set your clock by them, as they come out of the woods.
Probably the same there too.

Kev.

To update this thread:

I also live local to the woods and have a passion for wildlife - and in particular deer.
I messaged "senna916" when I saw this thread and have so far been along 3 times myself. The first two times all I got was tracks in the mud - definitely deer tracks but nothing more.

However I went along today as it was getting dusk (4.30pm-6.30pm) and found plenty more tracks, plenty of deer scat, deer hair and two seperate sightings of Roe Deer! The first group consisted of 3 and the second 2 - I am planning on going back early next week armed with the camera :)

Went to Uffmoor wood today and saw a couple of Roe Deer and my first Muntjac there!

Were they in the middle section, I went late Sunday afternoon and saw 3 lots of Roe Deer and a Buzzard,
I'm going again Thursday or Friday armed with camera :)

A buzzard! Not bad at all.
Saw the deer off the main path that stems from the car park (parked in the layby though lol.)
They were in the dense ground cover - lucky I had the binoculars!
