typing incorrect words..?

I started doing something similar occasionally, but it only happened after I learned to touch type. My best guess (and it is a total guess) is that every now and again your body associates a given pattern of movement with subsequent movements. Perhaps there is some trigger, you start a word with th... and your body types though, even though you meant to type thread.
Something like that anyway. I only ever do it when the first two letters of the word are identical, but I come out with the most random words sometimes, no relevance at all to what I'm actually typing.
