No
...they expect us to get permission from everyone in the picture. In a street? good luck with that!

look at no. 6

correct me if I'm wrong but surely getting someone to pose sort of defeats the essence of street photography? what if i take a shot looking down to a street from the top of a tall building with a massive lens? Empire States perhaps... thats a challenge!

just count how many people there are and fake their signatures I guess...

Haha that is a fail of large proportions!

Wounder if the bnp will submit their interpretation of "catch that special moment when cultures meet" Sorry.

Just sent them an e mail, telling them how impossible it would be to comply.
The gist of my e mail was that say in a street with say 50 people in it, are they all going to stand still for an hour or so while we collect signatures and in this time prevent anyone else from entering the street:cuckoo:

Be interesting to see if i get a reply, will keep you posted.

hmmmm...i might enter this, shame you cant submit a photo of an empty street as thats the only photos they will get from anyone.

and, getting pedantic, but

"6. No copyrighted material may be used in the entries."

but surely the originator of the photo has the copyright automatically so does that mean they will not accept any photos as they are all copyrighted?
:bang:

am I right ?

I don't think they've thought these T&C through properly :P

They were written by European Beaurocrats so what do you expect. These are the same people that say that Bananas couldn't be straight and cucumbers couldn't be curly just is case we muddled them up :shake:

One of life's conundrums " How do some of these people get the jobs/positions they hold"?

I'll leave it there or you'll ban me.

they get the jobs that no one in their right mind would even consider...cause they're farcical. no other explanation.

The photo motif should capture your vision of intercultural dialogue. Go out to your neighborhood, walk through the streets of your town and catch that special moment when cultures meet. This might be people talking, learning, praying, laughing or simply being together.

Bleh , sounds like something that comes out from the labour government :)

nopers, you can add peeps also...after the fact.

"The photos may be edited by the participant. This means that the presentation of the motif may be manipulated in colour or composition (montage, collage, retouching etc.) to differ from the original motif. Re-sharpening and correction of the tonal value is also permitted."

montage/collage...wtf

I'm sorry, but what is the legal reasons for #6. When you take a picture of people in a public road, and this picture is to be sold for profit -- do you really need permission from the subjects?

I always thought that if it was in a public place, there was no need for that.

I don't know if there is any legal reason for #6 but if there is it's likely to be because this the the law in one European country so to ensure thay can enter the competition fairly the rule is applied to everyone.
