NO 1 : If your shutter release cables keep losing the tiny disc shaped ‘thumb press’ screwed on at the top end , I suggest, that like I have just done, to superglue/ thread lock that part on securely .
I have spent a half hour or more groveling around in undergrowth trying to locate them out in the field when they unscrewed themselves from the main body of the release mechanism.

No 2 : Don’t get the product on your fingers!
Superglue, we know reacts extremely quickly.
This spillage was immediately washed in copious amounts of soapy water ( I was located two yards from the bathroom) , yet has still made a nice mess of my skin.

No big deal but worth being less clumsy than I was!

At least the stuff isn't harmful when in contact with skin! IIRC, it was developed as a battlefield alternative to stitches - glue 'em up until they're in a place that can deal with them properly!

Before we knew my son was autistic, I couldn't fathom why every single bloody one of my cable releases was without the disc part, until I spotted him using one to 'stim'. When we finally got the diagnosis, I asked if him doing that and losing all the disc bits was part of his way of dealing with things. It was.

Wish I'd known sooner... I'd have understood his needs better, and glued all the bloody discs in place.

There will be shops with fewer cable releases than you Asha

As they can sometimes be fiddly to attach especially with cold fingers, I generally leave them attached permanently to the lenses hence why I have several ;)
