Just signed up today, looks like quite an interesting thingy-ma-bob.

In the case of the plane landing in the Hudson river recently, a guy on a ferry took a picture of it and it was sent to hundreds of people all over the world via his Twitter account before the media had even located the plane. Pretty impressive, and it looks to me like eyewitness accounts are going to start reaching people long before any media report does of big events in the future. I wonder how long it'll be before the BBC have a Twitter correspondant?
