First off I hope this is the right area to post this.

So I've recently been looking at buying a new TV. Not really for need, just for wanting one.
We don't watch any tv to be honest except for the kids, most stuff I watch is streamed on my MBP or the wife's iPad, but I do game with my xbone when I can.

Currently I have a samsung LE40M87BDX which when I bought it around 7 years ago was one of the top tv's that year,it still preforms fine and is okay for gaming on(I don't now the actual input lag or how much of a difference a lower IL tv will make)

So I'm currently thinking of buying the sony KDL50W829B as I want something good with low input lag and bigger. Ive read many reviews and again it seems to be one of the top tv's this year so far.
Im really just wondering what other peoples set ups are and what they use them for.

So you don't watch any TV, current set performs fine and is okay for gaming. Are you mad? Spend the money on some camera gear :-)

If you are looking at Sony, it might be an idea to note that the 2015 range of Sony TV's are to have Android TV built-in, that might not be a deal-breaker for you but worth bearing in mind should you want to wait as you'll almost certainly get more "bang for your buck" so to speak.

On another note, despite the "no difference" review that CNET gave it, the new Samsung curved TV's simply look stunning when seen in person, and the viewing angle is excellent from what I could tell.
