Tv Adverts That Drive You Mad !!

The main ones in my house are:

Online gambling adverts: I work for an online gambling company and you don't realise how many adverts are out there for it.

Insurance ads: Missus works for an insurance brokers and hates them, although she has mixed feelings about the meercat advert :)

Others have been mentioned here including the Kevin Spacey "Don't be a tourist" ad, which I think, if I ever meet him will result in me taking an internal photograph as shove the camera up his **** :D

just remembered this gem of an advert...

its hilarious, firstly the idea that somoene who works in KFC actually cares about his/her job and cares about food is laughable. secondly its proper advertising spiel chicken in KFC is never that big (there's bigger legs on the pigeons picking up the scraps in the carpark), its never served in such a well presented manner (its rammed in to a box and the lit closed) the whole advert attempts to make out that KFC is a quality restaurant, its not its rough and ready fast food!

If KFC was like that it would be great - But it aint its just

Buy Low - fry - sell high in a cardboard box

My worst add is - Camera chow picture wow  Kev making a TV add - he must be hard up - he's on the plane add too - he's not in any films at the moment:lol:

Don't think I've seen this mentioned on here yet, but one for the girlies . . . those mascara ads, where the small print says that they were shot with the use of "lash inserts" and enhanced in post production.
Sooooooo, what you're saying is that it's not really anything to do with the mascara at all then ??????

Not much of a problem for me at the moment anyway.
What's on TV tonight? OH playing Modern Warfare online with his mates :bang: :bang: :bang:

i HATE the injury lawyers4u advert.

I actually made a complaint to the advertising standards agency about them, although it wasnt upheld :(

whitewash, the advert may be a bit of a joke, but my god it tastes good! (the food, not the advert. I dont lick TVs)

Dale Winton on that insipid "cash my gold" advert! The king bingo addy, when the woman starts singing and dancing with the three ladies. Of course I hate the go compare ad when he pops outta the car, it scared the life out of me the other day!!

Tv Adverts That Drive You Mad !!

All of 'em when you have Sky+ and you start watching 'real time' TV!

That new Halifax £5 advert is AMAZING. And not in a good way, either.

We buy any car dot com - the 'music' makes me want to rip my arm off just so I have something to beat the advertising exec who came up with it with.

M&S food adverts- it's ****ing food, get over yourselves! M&S adverts with Noemie Lenoir in her undies is a different matter

Sainsbury's adverts - nothing really wrong with them, but Jamie Oliver is the worlds best laxative: He really does irritate the **** out of me!

EDIT:
Also, I'll add Tesco and Asda. I don't like the way a lot of their advertising is just taking cheap snipes at the other company. What makes it worse is I shop at both, and have never really saved enough at either store to justify those ads.

With you on that one ! I dont mind getting the £5 but im sure i could get more back in my account if they didnt waste all that cash on carp adverts ! lol

Webuyanycar oh god no ! lol both the old and the new adverts drive me round the twist !

The stroke adverts give me the creeps, can understand why they do it, but they make me turn over rather than pay attention !

Any/all of the below

Gambling
Insurance (quite like the meerkats one though lol)
Cash4Gold (other carp adverts are available)
DFS (other carp furniture sales are available)

So many more its near impossible to choose lol

With you on that as well, its American method of advertising, slag off your competition even though its not accurate anyway !

Ian, insurance advertising, you reminded me.

Aviva. NO, you're not cheap. Deal with it. You were a rip off as NU, you're a rip off as Aviva.

But I love the meerkats. Simples.

Furniture stores annoy me as they've all got a sale on ALL the time anyway. There was a show called 'No Signal' which took the **** out of DFS and the like perfectly.

'SOFA SOFA SOFA! IT'S OUR NEW SALE! THE "IT'D BE RUDE NOT TO HAVE A SALE THIS WEEK" SALE!'

I laughed...oh how I laughed

that act on CO2 advert gets my goat as well, drive 5 miles less per week. OK tell you what, you give me a hand moving my work closer to my house so i can meet your targets as it is i dont think i do 5miles travel every week that i could possibly cut, i drive to work and i drive back, i drive to the supermarket once a week and i walk to the market in town for my fresh meat, so yeh ill just drive 5 miles less per week shall I, good idea but not really feasable, i doubt very few people drive 5miles in non essential journeys per week, apart from boy racers who are not going to pay any attention to the advert.

maybe replacing the tagline with 'act on CO2, dont waste energy on broadcasting and filming this advert' (i wonder if their is a reduction in energy usage by just broadcasting static for 15seconds rather than that advert.

:agree: I'm fed up with being lectured by this nanny state. especially when it comes from 'Do as I say not do as I do' politicians! :bat:

DFS, Go Compare, Esure, and bloody Howard from the Halifax ads all go without saying... but mostly I hate ad's where a man just shouts all the way through.

BANG! and the dirt is gone!

or preferably:

Bang! and Barry Scott get his head blown off.

I don't think the petition woul;d get a result...but it's worth signing just to see the eventual reply

Fi: Just Wikipedia'd Barry Scott. As sad as it is, that dudes an actor (well, sort of, he's done BBC drama :whistling:). Why would they do that? Argh. Idiots

If you're feeling more imaginative: Barry Scott bio  (WARNING: Swearies in link)

didnt they do it because if it was being sold by someone then it must be good, when infact it was being sold on the advert by a nobody but we all just presume hes actually a somebody!
