I'm an old school photographer from the days of film, wet paper and chemistry and I think after a few years of digital working I'm finally starting to get the hang of this new medium and understand it like I did in my old darkroom.

I mostly produce landscape images these days but I've experimented with lots of different things in the past.
At the moment I'm looking to expand my photographic horizons by turning toward the Dark Side

I figure just about every landscape in the UK has already been photographed so many times that the only way to produce something really different is to go out when the sun goes down.

Of course I've done plenty of stuff around sunrise and sunset and a little in the twilight beyond but I think it's time to re-invigorate my work by pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone a bit.

I'm sure to stumble a few times along the way but this looks like the sort of place I could find some illumination if I trip up.

If you produce images like your first post then you have surely got the hang of digital. Welcome to the fray.

Thank you. I hope I'll have something new to post up in a couple of days.

I'm heading out onto Anglesey to try some night shots until mid week so watch this space.

Wow, if that's a first foray into digital I'd love to see what you do when you feel more experienced.

It's excellent.

I've been at it for a while now but I'm only just starting to feel competent if you know what I mean.

It's taken me a long time to stop thinking like a film photographer and realise it's all about the numbers.

Welcome to TP,
#1, nice shot.
#2, where did you get the 'Dark side' emoticon/smiley? ('Cause I would really like one!)
#3, May the force be with you!

Wayland has it hosted on his website.

If you check its link, it's h ttp://www.wayland.me.uk/assets/images/ vader.gif

As Dave says I have a copy hosted on my own site assets for convenience but I found it on a smiley sharing site somewhere. (Sorry but can't remember which one now.)
