I have a number of lights down the bottom of the garden - I want to be able to turn them on and off from the house.
I am currently trying to use two ByeByeStandbys that I had laying around.
The lights used to have PIRs on them but our cat and the neighbourhood fox family set them off all night long - even when adjusted.
So the idea is that if there is a noise in the garden, I keep the remote in the bedroom on the window sill and can turn the lights on. The other remote stays by the back kitchen door to turn the lights on if going into the garden.
BUT - the range on the remotes is a bit hit and miss - it is approx 10m from the back wall of the house to the shed where they are plugged in and they very rarely work - walk abit closer toward the shed and they work perfectly.
Is there a suitable alternative - like bluetooth or similar that will do what I want and work reliably at that distance?
As much as I'd love to buy one - I don't think a full home automation system is required.
Thanks
