Yes
...next Monday.
Luckily i'm heading off down to the big smoke for 3 days with the Mrs to take my mind off it, and she's insistent i take the camera!!!
I wasn't going to take it as i wanted us to be together every minute, but as she's so insistent i'm not going to argue!
Did anyone else fear a sense of impending doom at reaching the horror landmark that was 40 years of age?

nope - see my signature , age is unavoidable, but becoming old is optional. you are as young as you feel etc

Mine was 5 years ago best night of my life. In more ways than one :naughty: it's a landmark in your life enjoy it. It's was my 30th I hated.

40 was ok actually.
Didn't handle 30 quite so gracefully though

Blimey! I'll be 50 next year, what sort of landmark would you call that!! :help:

Half a century :D nothing like being half way to hundred.

Other than when I was a young teenager and I wanted to be older I have never bothered about my age or any particular birthday - it is a waste of time.

I was 50 last October. I can't understand what the big deal is, birthdays don't interest me. BSM's right, your as old as you feel and I don't feel any older than I did in my 20's.

Some say you are as old as the woman you feel.... my wife is nearly 11 years younger than me... I'm a happy bunny and only 37 on that basis :D

Age is only a number. Live for tomorrow my friend. You never know what it will bring. I, for one, believe that 100%. Or maybe I'm beginning to realise I'm over half way!!

v8moneypit is so right. I love the username. Now that I've taken early retirement (I retired at 55) and slashed my annual mileage, bangernomics makes sense and a disposable V8 is definitely on the horizon.

I'm 40 in,,,,,.......a little over 4 months and not too sure what to make of it
Have a good one Carlo :)

I met 30 kicking and screaming ... 40 I embraced :) my 40's have been fantastic so far.

:plusone:

I will hit 50 later this year and it's only a number. I fully intend to grow old disgracefully - Compo is my hero!!! Considering I was given 3-6 months to live unless I had my recent(ish) surgery 4 1/2 months ago, I actually relish adding years!

No problems getting older too :D

Only thing I find is that if you look across the room and think "hmmm nice" you have to consider their age ie a 25 year old may be too young for someone who is 50 :D

Was told by a good friend that you can go for someone half your age plus 7 ie 50 = 32 - anything less is a :nono: :D

Hmm, if you can't get a 40 year old

two 20's will do just fine :D  :woot:

The first footing of old fartdom ;)

Truth

like it!
i don't feel any older/maturer than when i was 15.
I've just learned to conform to what is generally expected of a person! ;)

21 for me but I still don't do the conforming bit

It's funny that... over the last decade (I'm 55 this year) all of my girlfriends have been between 19 & 31, and no I didn't go looking for them the relationships just kind of happened.

Really? I liked being 30 so much, I'm doing it again for the 4th time this year :D I suppose I'll hit 40 eventually but I'm taking my time

Life just seemed to get far better when I turned 40...not sure why , guess I'm just more relaxed about stuff & still don't feel any different to when I was 20...& 52 will be even better :D
