ttl and ettl off camera cables

I am thinking about taking my 550ex off camera and looking at cables. Ebay is full of ttl but not many ettl and even those seem vague. To keep ettl from my 40d, do I need an ettl cable or is a ttl the same thing?
Any links would be appreciated

HAve a look at the 550 Manual...there is quite a lot of mentions in it there says E-ttl for Type 2 cameras...TTl for Type A....

I think it implies TTL is for old camera...but E-TTL is new cameras...

Dont quote me on that...

I have one I modded to be able to change the sizes with cat 6 cable...so variable sized for on and off camera...

I never use it as I shoot manual on the camera & flash/es...

Ill be selling prob at the weekend...so if interested have a look...
