TSE

Well, a quick check with Google brings up Testicular Self Examination. But personally I think that's a load of B******s :)

Where did you come across it? (BTW, do you mean an acronym?)

Well the TS is Tilt and Shift, TS-E is Canons name for the lenses Nikon calls PC-E (Perspective Control)

No idea what the E stands for.

I would guess it's derived from EF "Electro Focus" - viz communicates electronically but with manual focus?

Ken Rockwell reckons it stands for electronic diaphragm.

So, we're no closer to knowing the real answer ;)

Surely we've now got enough of an answer for the OP though (even if some of it did come from KR :p).

I don't want to be a pedant but TSE is not an acronym. An acronym spells a word from the initial letters ie laser.
This strictly speaking is an initialization as abbreviations covers all of these.
I know I should get out more and am trying very hard.

To be pedantic...
I didn't say it was an acronym. I was asking if it was.

The "E" is Electronic. Canon's original TS lens was simply TS (sans E). Similarly the MP-E macro lens in it's earlier, non-electronic, format was simply MP (Macro Photo).
