Lately all I feel like I had done is concentrate on my website and client pictures, only been doing it as a business a few months.

Today I really missed just going out and taking pictures for me, for fun, without having to worry or pre plan and make sure the pictures are perfect for the clients etc, even though I do enjoy it, I know they have to meet the standards.

So my next 3 days off are all for me! I want to get some of that relaxed shooting back in :-)

Blab over lol

Know the feeling well. Although in different circumstances to your good self. Am going for a wander around London Town after work tonight to try and raise some interest. Hope it goes well for you.

This is something I'm always curious about, namely if you turn a hobby into a job, can you still get the same pleasure from doing it?

I'm sure this must come up all the time with photography, but it interests me as someone who has no intention of ever trying photography as work/business... but you never know

I never had intensions of doing it as business it's just the way it kind of steered.

I would definitely day for me at the moment, as I am still developing my own style, that my portrait sitting can be dull for me as people seem to like dull boring pictures lol while I am more creative/experimental. But once I start going into my own style I hope people will come for that.

It just gets irritating when you know you have to sort how ever many 100 pics even if they are pants, I find the clients tend to go for the ones I would normally have deleted!

Hi,

What's your Main shooting likes.

Regards.

As in my personal pics?

I used to do a lot of macro stuff, insects and experimental stuff like water drops, flour bombs and other stuff like that.

I really want to get some nice landscapes in, i got a UWA and a 10stop filter and just never found the time to go out for some good pics

I know exactly what you mean Robbo. When I started photography full time I felt burned out and fed up within a year, simply because I no longer had time to enjoy something which had been my precious hobby and pastime. I found that lugging a heavy camera and lens around on a rare morning off felt too much like hard work. I cured that by buying a good quality small camera (eg Panasonic Lumix G! or my 550d) which is light enough to go in my handbag and can be whipped out when I feel like it. I can't tell you what a difference this made. Still, days off are very few and far between, barely once a month. We make so many sacrifices when we turn pro.
