Yes
In the spirit of the other thread, is there a worse cover version of any song than The Scissor Sisters mangling of Comfortably Numb?

Unless it's that bint off Pop Factor crucifying Halleluja.

Mpeoples Itchycoo Park makes me feel sick. Breaks an unwritten musicians rule, never cover The Small faces or Otis redding, your vocals ain't up to it.

The Beatles - Roll Over Beethoven
Without You - Maria Carey (sp)

99.9% of X-Factor contestants ruin any cover song they attempt.

:plusone:

They murdered Michael Jackson's "You are not alone" which was my wife and I's, me and my wife's, mine and my wife's....'our song'.

Gits.

Rolf Harris - Stairway to heaven. Still can't forgive him. :bang:

Anyone off any talent(less) contest singing any song.

Also:

Kelly Osborne's Man who sold the world

Those Irish guys covering Green Day's Time of Your Life

Leona Lewis' version of Run.

Nine inch nails murdered Hurt by johnny cash. There have been some truly horrible covers of hallelujah over the years, but some fantastic ones too.

Uhh, I hope you are being sarcastic... Its a NIN song..... Johnny covered it.

Haha I genuinely thought it was a Johnny Cash song, no doubt because he's much older. I stand by my opinion that the Nine Inch Nails version is rubbish though :D

Limps Bizkit's version of Behind Blue Eyes is just dire and a total massacre of a classic.

westlife's mangling of 'uptown girl'

I like the Scissor Sisters' cover - I didn't at first then I realised it's a lot more cleverly done than it appears. They're an excellent live band too

I'll agree with the Hallelujah cover being crap though :nono:

I quite like the Leonard Lewis cover of run

Didn't like many of the others though.

Some good covers around, Brian Ferry Jealous Guy was one, Jeff Healey Bands While my Guitar Gently Weeps was another

Wet Wet Wet and their cover of the great Joe Cockers A little help from my friends. They totally ruined it.

LTJ Bukem's version of The James Bond theme is totally unrecognisable.

I seem to have a distant memory of Shirley Bassey singing "Elenor Rigby" on some TV show. It's a very sad song about lonely people and there was Shirl, dressed like a chandelier in a brothel, belting out an up tempo version with a huge grin on her face and completely missing the whole point of the song.

Anyone remember the Smurfs Go Pop? Featuring many scary covers, including cotton eyed joe, Living Next Door to Alice, and several others I can't remember the title of.

robson and jerome - any but particularly unchained melody

gazza - fog on the tyne

jimmy nail - ferry cross the mersey

Emma Bunton's dire effort at Edie Brickell's "What I am" Impersonating at its worst.
Anything and everything that Boyzone ever did too. (any hint here that I don't like Boyzone):D

One great cover has to be Bret dominoes Nelly Furtado Medley :D
