Triumph Speedmaster 865 (08)

Toy for the boy (in my case!)

Let's face it, the biggest differences between men and boys is the size of their w/!!/35 and the cost of their toys!

I used to do several thousand miles every year on 2 wheels and managed to survive them without a scratch so now plan on fewer miles but a similar number of scratches. Gone are the days of 3 figure speeds up the 303 for an evening with friends then similar speeds back home. Now more likely to be a gentle pootle up onto the moor for some lunch followed by an equally gentle pootle home, possibly with a few miles lidless to commune with nature!

Apologies to all those in the Exeter area who are currently "enjoying" the persistent rain. Picked the new toy up this morning then had to go out in the car. Started drizzling as we approached home and has deteriorated since! Forecast looks good for tomorrow so should be putting a few miles on it. Mustn't forget that I have a dentist appointment at lunchtime though!

I really like the look of the new type bonnies and can see why you like the speedmaster apparently they are very reliable and fun to ride
I used to have a sportster 1200 and really loved it and the missus still has her 883
The modern Harleys are very good bikes and are reliable but are just not everyone's cup of tea
I've never understood why people slate harleys if you don't like them don't get one
I now ride a 1250 Bandit its better two up than the sportster and easier to carry my camera gear

No sun yet but it's still quite early! The exhaust's a little on the fruity/crackly side for early morning weekends so I'm resisting the temptation to nip out for a quick spin. I know it's got a fiver's worth of fuel in the tank (I put it in on the test ride [reimbursed]) but maybe a splash dash at 7...

Much as I would have loved the old Bonnie they had in, I'm way too used to left foot changes and getting too old to enjoy the tinkering that the older twins need. Fortunately I was delivered from temptation - a bloke has bought it for his Dad who's not ridden for years but whose last bike was a right footer. Pretty sure he'll be able to give it a far better home than I could.
