Hi thanks for quick reply they look very nice that's what I can only say because I don't know this brand and I am very fresh about photography. How about this fluid head are they not better than ball or other?

Nice site! Right now I can't fork out lots on a tripod, but anything is better than just using my gorilla pod.

I can't work out the difference between these two apart from 3 section or 4, which is best?

They are the same, except the number of sections. I prefer 3 section as it's less setting up, though a 4 section will be 13cm shorter when folded. Depends which is more important for you.

The red snapper head isn't fluid, just pan and tilt. What are you using the tripod for, the RS ball head RSH-12 is highly recommended but will add £50 to the price.

You can block this panoramic view option in modo which you can't do on other one

I will use it just for very amateur photography at the moment I just started I just bought a dslr so photos and movies of my daughter mostly and landscape terrain I'd like to try...

At the budget end of the tripod market the redsnapper is second to none.

While some cheaper tripods may boast more features, ignore them. What you want from a tripod is a secure platform that will not allow any camera movement once everything is tightened up. The Redsnapper achieves this.

A fluid head is only good for video, you dont need it for photography.
Ball heads are the most versatile, where as 3 way heads offer more precision

Thanks a lot guys is not easy to decide which one I'll let you know what I bought it and I'll review once again thank you

Arggghhhhh.... Can't make my mind up. RS-284 will be better for the fold away size, do I can attach it to my bag however the RS-283 is less set up.

To be honest.... Probably not, and it saves messing with a whole extra section. Decision made, thank you.

Ive got the 283 and its not that big when folded, although I am thinking of selling it to get one that folds in on itself, as its still a pain carrying this around even though it isnt that big

£15 shipping :s

EDIT: Somehow it's now lowered to £7.50...

RedSnappers are not the best tripods in the world, but they do a pretty good job and there's nothing to touch them for the money - three-section 283 is the pick I think, £50 bargain.

And the RSH-12 ball head is actually a cut above most, and also a bargain at £50. The head is the main user-interface, and arguably makes the most difference in use.

My own tripod cost several times the price of a RedSnapper, and is maybe 20% better in real terms. Law of diminishing returns is savage with tripods

Edit: 10% extra discount on RedSnappers for TP'ers. Just phone and mention this site

Do not go for MODO, it is ok for poin-and-shoot or bridge cameras, but will not be as relaible with your d90 (especially when you add havier lens). Redsnapper have really good opinions, i personally recommend Giottos.

A lesson I learnt the hard way (and I do not usually fall for this) - avoid cheap tripods. I had an old one from my film days (great for my OM1 with a 50mm lens, but not up to a modern DSLR with long lens) and a cheapo Currys one which suddenly went ping and tried to dump my 7D and 100-400 on the floor. :'(

So I ordered a Red Snapper on Friday at 8pm, it's just arrived! Ultra quick delivery.

On opening it, the first clear sign you get is that it feels solid and is clearly a sturdy tripod, can't wait to use it!

Hmm. Think i may be investing in a similar set up. My el cheapo is rubbish!!

I agree, I had a Manfrotto Modo when I had my Olympus E-510. A much smaller camera than the D90 especially when you consider lens sizes too. The locks on the legs pretty much all broke, these aren't replaceable individually and I would have needed 3 new legs to repair it. Also the ball head never inspired confidence.

I now have a Giotto's Tripod and head and it feels and works great.

Do your self a favour and spend the extra for a good quality one.
